Water is easy to keep out of things – seals & plastics are excellent barriers. However, water vapour can permeate through those same plastics & barriers almost as if they were not there – and in large volumes. Once inside, it condenses, causing problems – and is then kept in precisely the wrong place by the very same seals & plastics designed to keep it out!
