Mil-spec connector uses standard tools

14 October 2014

TE Connectivity announces the launch of its CeeLok FAS-X connector which offers 10Gbyte/s data delivery using rugged mil-spec components.

The connector features fast field termination and repair, requiring only standard contact insertion/removal and crimping tools. It combines rugged reliability with signal integrity to support current high-speed protocols.

The connector meets military and aerospace markets’ 10Gbyte/s requirements and other high-speed protocols such as IEEE 1394bI/O, fibre channel networks and Modular D38999 for harsh environment applications. The patented shielding arrangement virtually eliminates crosstalk and isolates each pair to provide improved impedance matching.

The connectors have an operating range of - 60 to +200°C, and are moisture and corrosion resistant for airborne and naval operations. They are also available in a size 25 shell with a variety of standard D38999 modules to accommodate various counts of size 22, 20 and 16 contacts.
