A baseband receiver detect road hazards

Texas Instruments claims it has developed the fastest and lowest power baseband receiver analogue front end for ADAS.
The four-channel AFE5401-Q1 is designed for ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems) and the next generation of automotive radar applications where space constraints and performance require greater bandwidth, high integration and low power.
Delivering twice the sampling rate and bandwidth spectrum of existing solutions, the company claims that the receiver enables quick position and speed discrimination. It also requires 30% less power and 20% less board space, says the company.
The four separate channels are simultaneously monitored to determine the direction of the incoming radar signal. This allows the automotive radar system to make smart decisions about where an object is located, if it is moving and how soon a response needs to occur.
Sampling speed is 25Msample/s/channel and power per receive channel is 65mW/channel.
