Embedded systems lab at the University of Glasgow

12 November 2013

Freescale Semiconductor has signed an agreement to open a new Freescale Embedded Systems Lab at the University of Glasgow.

The lab will be used  by second, third and fourth year electronics and electrical engineering degrees students.

It will be equipped with Freescale’s Tower System development platform featuring Kinetis L series microcontrollers, including the world’s smallest ARM SoC; as well as the CodeWarrior software development tools. The company’s Kinetis 32bit microcontrollers based on ARM Cortex-M0+ technology will be the primary devices for lab activities.

The close proximity of the lab to the Freescale Technology Centre of Excellence in East Kilbride will provide additional support, collaboration and ease of access, allowing many students to pursue placements, projects and careers with Freescale through the relationship, says the company.
