London is the venue for andersDX’s PCAP Touch Technology Centre where design, integration and support will be available.

The centre will support non-consumer device makers who want a fast, pain-free migration to next generation iPad-style user interfaces, says the company.

The centre comprises a demonstration, innovation and development studio, giving manufacturers of medical, industrial, POS and white goods access to the company’s PCAP projected capacitive touch components and technology to deliver an interface that overcomes traditional technical and commercial challenges of long life availability and compliance with specific environmental requirements.

The company’s Flushtouch ‘custom PCAP design’ service, is also available, leveraging proven processes from over 40 years of custom LCD projects. A standard, custom or semi-custom TFT is integrated with a standard or custom PCAP sensor and custom cover lens. Custom PCAP/cover ens structures including glass/glass, glass/film and single glass are available.

The service also provides industrial design and aesthetics. Touch sensors can be taken beyond the active display area and bonded to a customised cover lens of a pre-selected thickness, made from a choice of materials for improved hardness and scratch resistance. The cover lens can be in different colours with square or rounded corners, intricate cut-outs, LED light guides for backlit effect, printed logos in multiple colours, and printed pushbuttons which use the extended touch sensor.

Also available are some patented solutions to environmental compliance issues. For example, PCAP sensors that work through two layers of surgical gloves, or outdoor leather gloves
