Rutronik launches e-commerce concept on a global scale

With its new sales organisation, Rutronik24, Rutronik Elektronische Bauelemente addresses a new customer base.

Focusing on customers with average component requirements, Rutronik24 provides small and medium-sized enterprises access to the complete company portfolio as well as additional services and support. Rutronik24 was launched in Germany, Austria and Switzerland at the beginning of the year and has now expanded.

The company says that customers across the world can now use the platform,, to access the broadline distributor's product portfolio. The platform is available in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Chinese languages. Previous concepts were not suited to supplying small and medium-sized enterprises and larger companies with smaller component requirements. Now they can procure everything from the e-commerce platform, instead of contacting other suppliers and submiting several orders in writing or by telephone, says the company. In addition to the product catalogue with numerous search options, the e-commerce platform offers functions to speed up and simplify component selection and ordering.

The online catalogue offers access to over one million articles and there are intelligent search functions for technical parameters, parts numbers or full text. The product selection is complemented with the current prices and availability in real time. Suggestions for alternative replacement articles with a list of the different parameters are available in cases of discontinued components or long delivery times. The mass quotation tool allows customers to upload their complete parts list. The platform then uses the list to compile a personalised offer which can be converted into an order, item by item.

On placing the order, the customer is informed of the binding delivery date and the shipping costs corresponding to the selected shipping option. Customers can order samples and request special offers. A Product Consultant helps a customer to select the components if necessary and direct contact to product specialists is also possible. In the procurement area, the customer can view jobs, contracts, articles and inventories including job numbers and statuses, requested and actual delivery dates and job tracking via real-time tracking.
