East heads west, ARM welcomes Segar as CEO

ARM CEO, Warren East is to retire from the company and will be replaced by the current president, Simon Segars.
East’s retirement is effective 1 July 2013. He has been CEO since 2001 and has been with ARM since 1994. Segar, 45, joined the company in 1991, holding executive roles in Engineering, Worldwide Sales and Business Development.
He is presently responsible for the company’s IP divisions. East joined the Cambridge company to establish the consulting business and then became vice president of business operations. Under his leadership the company provides processor technology for nearly all mobile phones and many other consumer and industrial electronic devices in use today.
John Buchanan, chairman of ARM Holdings, said, "Warren has transformed ARM during his time as CEO. In 2001 ARM had one processor product line found mainly in mobile phones. …During Warren’s tenure the company has received royalties for over 40 billion ARM-based chips. …”
