Tektronix to enter power analyser market

A technology transfer agreement with partner Voltech includes power analyser IP, patents and product designs.
This will allow it to introduce a product line in the next few months.
Power analysers complement other test and measurement instrumentation, such as oscilloscopes or power probes, to develop more energy-efficient devices or new forms of electricity generation such as solar photovoltaic and wind energy.
As part of the technology transfer, the two companies have agreed to work closely to ensure a smooth transition for existing Voltech power analyser customers.
Voltech will exit the power analyser market to focus on innovation in its transformer tester market and will offer service, repair and application support on all Voltech branded products.
Tektronix will provide service and support for the power analysers; customers will also have access to its network of sales, service and support personnel.
