New technologies, time pressures and challenges to improve efficiency mean it is more important than ever for employees to continue to educate themselves whenever they get the chance...

Traditionally, engineers, buyers and management have visited exhibitions and conferences to get that information. There are some decent local events such as NEW and Southern Manufacturing in the UK, but the larger events now take place outside the UK, predominantly in Germany and the US.

Since it is not always possible to leave the office, even for a day to a local event, online events are becoming a popular alternative to get real-time information. Now market information provider IPC has decided to get involved by hosting an event on test and inspection.

The symposium is intended to offer solutions and case studies on test and inspection technologies.

IPC Test and Inspection Online Symposium: Technology Review and Case Studies to Improve Processes, Yields and Costs! will be held on 24 July 2012 from 2:00pm – 8:30pm GMT.

The online symposium will provide test and inspection engineers around the world with a cost-effective forum to learn solutions to issues that plague test processes, without having to leave the office.

The symposium will cover test and inspection issues about X-ray inspection, silver corrosion failures, environmental stress screening and more. Similar to a traditional conference session format, each session will be followed by a Q&A session with the speaker.

For additional information on the online symposium, including the full agenda and registration form, visit: www.ipc.org/test-and-inspection.

The itinerary looks very interesting and hopefully the event will turn out to be informative rather than partisan.
