Indro Mukerjee has been appointed as Plastic Logic’s CEO

Mukerjee joins the company as it launches its first commercial product based on breakthrough plastic electronics technology.

He brings executive experience from leading global multinational, new venture and investment-backed fast moving technology and industrial companies. He will succeed Richard Archuleta, who is stepping down after leading the company for the past four years.

Most recently, Mukerjee served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of C-MAC MicroTechnology, leading the business transformation of the electronics manufacturing company since 2006. He was previously with Philips Semiconductors BV, where he served in a number of executive leadership positions including Executive Vice President responsible for global commercial operations, Chief Marketing Officer and CEO of the Automotive and RF-ID businesses.

"Indro brings to Plastic Logic tremendous experience in leading global operations and manufacturing in the fast moving technology sector just as our company undertakes the global commercialisation of our products. We were fortunate to find someone with his unique combination of talents to lead the company in its next phase," said Tony Illsley, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Plastic Logic.

"I’m very excited to join Plastic Logic and to create a global business which will inspire an industry revolution," said Indro Mukerjee. "I am very impressed with the company's unique technology and engineering expertise, and look forward to leading it to the successful realisation of its goals."

Plastic Logic plans to begin its initial commercial product rollout later this year and is in the process of building its second manufacturing plant in Zelenograd, Russia. That facility, which is planned to be the world’s largest plastic electronics production facility, will open in 2013/2014.
