A flexible outdoor enclosure system from Rittal

27 June 2011

Rittal’s Toptec range of outdoor enclosures is based on the stainless steel TS 8 form frame, which can be stripped down to the frame to enable maximum access during equipment installation. When complete, the housing is rated to IP55, and the gaps between panels are minimised to prevent tampering. Hinges on both front and rear doors, as an option, are also hidden from view and with a multi-point locking system installed equipment is secure.

Available in steel or aluminium, the twin-walled Toptec is effectively a weatherproof 19in rack, which can be fitted with a standard range of cooling units, and different handle and security options. It is designed for the universal mounting of standard rack-mount electronic equipment.

Rittal provides a full service, from the calculations for heat loss and solar gain, through to the inclusion of a range of flat-pack pre-cast concrete plinths for quick installation on site. Rittal’s expertise also runs to the heating (condensation) and cooling systems necessary to maintain the lifespan of standardised electronic units in an otherwise hostile environment.

The new range is available in a range of standard sizes, with the option to bay enclosures together for expansion. And with a range of standard accessories, all requirements are catered for using off-the-shelf products.

Order online
With access to the new RittalXpress website it is possible to search for a suitable product and receive an outline quotation for a standard or modified Rittal enclosure within minutes. RittalXpress was developed to identify which products are available via the seven day modification service and create a quick and easy to use interface for configuration on line.

Choose by application, size, IP rating, part number or material, which can be mild steel, plastic, aluminium or stainless steel. The RittalXpress website has a level of intelligence that only allows the selection of accessories to suit the chosen size or type of enclosure, along with the inclusion of any holes required. This removes any chance of the incorrect selection of accessories and saves time spent browsing through the catalogues.
