A NEW dawn for industry

Early indications suggest that NEW UK 2011 was even bigger and better than before

Early indications suggest that NEW UK 2011 was even bigger and better than before.

With an estimated 2,100 people attending the show at the NEC, it seems that interest in NEW is greater than in previous years.

“There was a definite buzz there and exhibitors tell me that they had good leads coming to them the whole time,” comments Event Director Claire Saunders. “People have already booked up for next year, and have booked bigger stands too,” she added.

In fact, Printed Circuit supplier, ALR Services Ltd reported an excellent response when they exhibited at National Electronics Week. The company gained a number of new customers from the two day event held at the NEC, and attributed part of the success to their participation in the Future Proof Assembly Line, to which ALR supplied the Printed Circuits.

Reporting after the event, Jo Saltman, Sales Manager at ALR (pictured right), said: “I know the initial idea of running a live production line at the NEC gave all involved a certain degree of trepidation to start with, but it was a great example of how different people from different sectors of the UK Electronics Industry can come together and work together. In fact the event is a great showcase for the UK Electronics Industry as a whole.”

Jim Rosseter, Managing Director at ALR added: “NEW grows year on year. It’s a great opportunity for the UK Electronics Industry to showcase our skills and knowledge base. We are all very good at what we do and we need to make sure everybody else knows it too.”

NEW UK 2012 will take place from 17-18 April 2012 at the NEC, Birmingham.
