ARX has authorised Avnet Abacus to take their thermal management solutions to market across Europe
ARX has authorised Avnet Abacus to take their thermal management solutions to market across Europe.
The management of heat generated in electronic systems remains a significant design issue. This agreement enables Avnet Abacus to promote and support a range of heat management products including heat sinks, fans and ARX’s graphite heat sheets.
“The addition of ARX’s cutting edge thermal management solutions to Avnet Abacus’ product line up signifies that we now support one of the most comprehensive ranges of cooling and thermal management products across Europe,” Alan Jermyn, Vice President of Marketing, Avnet Abacus, stated. “Good thermal management continues to be an essential part of the design process. ARX now provides us with the ability to offer customers thermal management solutions for a wide range of applications including lighting, industrial, medical and automotive.”
While the size of electronic components continues to reduce, the heat they generate doesn’t, and it remains an issue for product designers. The materials used in the design and development of heat sinks are subject to continuous improvement. ARX has developed and introduced an award winning graphite heat sheet that is not only relatively inexpensive to produce, but also conducts heat far more effectively than standard materials such as copper and aluminium. These qualities mean the material can be formed around components and channel heat away from hotspots much more effectively than other forms of passive cooling hence enabling more reliable design solutions.
Mark Kozdras, VP of Operations and Global Sales added: “Avnet Abacus is a technically focussed distributor with the ability to provide excellent specialist design in skills and knowledge. These strengths will enhance our European sales channel and enable Avnet Abacus and ARX to secure new design in opportunities. We look forward to developing a very successful partnership with Avnet Abacus.”
