The VT 4002 EMC from Weiss Gallenkamp
The VT 4002 EMC from Weiss Gallenkamp is an EMC test chamber for use in the mobile phone, hearing aid, car alarm, SatNav and GPS, and wireless access systems industries.
Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is defined as the ability of an electric device to function satisfactorily within its electromagnetic environment (interference resistance). This must function without unduly affecting this environment which itself contains other devices (emitted interference). Furthermore, a limited laboratory area and the need to test directly at the workplace require compact and quiet devices.
In collaboration with the Institute for Electric Energy Systems and High-Voltage Engineering (EH) of the University of Karlsruhe (TH), Weiss Gallenkamp have measured the chamber and developed an optimal shield attenuation. The test space is designed so that the interior container takes over a shield function. The shield attenuation (SA) specifies the ability of an electromagnetic shield to reduce or attenuate electromagnetic fields and surface currents.
The temperature range of the VT 4002 EMC is -35°C to +100°C.
