OBC Solution for EV Powertrain Development

Comprised of the company’s dsPIC33C digital signal controller (DSC) technology, along with its MCP14C1 isolated silicon-carbide (SiC) gate driver devices and mSiC MOSFETs, Microchip Technology has just announced a dedicated on-board charger (OBC) solution.

This will accelerate the development and implementation of electric vehicle (EV) power systems, presenting engineers with a highly flexible, easy to program platform that features an array of ready-to-use software modules. It benefits from the dual core architecture of the AEC-Q100 qualified dsPIC33C and its advanced digital signal processing (DSP) capabilities, along with the elevated isolation capabilities of the MCP14C1 and the mSiC MOSFETs’ minimal switching losses.
