Estimated Parasitics Function Added to IP Design Migration Platform

Release 24.2 of Thalia’s AMALIA IP design migration platform has new functional elements added that will aid semiconductor engineers in their migration work and significantly accelerate the whole process.

Among these are a design centring assistant feature plus an improved device mapping feature. The standout addition, however, is the estimated parasitics capability. This intelligently incorporates extracted parasitics from the source design and incorporates them in the circuit porting phase. The upshot is estimated parasitics can be accessed at an earlier stage of design activities - meaning the accuracy of the ported schematic will be improved and the need for multiple post-layout parasitic extraction iterations can be markedly lowered (by almost 30%).
