Multi-Architectural IDE Enhancements

The latest incarnation of the NECTO multi-architectural integrated development environment (IDE) from MikroElektronika (MIKROE) now supports over 100 different microcontroller units (MCUs) - with Microchip and STMicrolectronics’ devices being covered.

In addition, the NECTO Studio 6.1 release sees Microchip MPLAB XC compilers for 8-/16-/32-bit MCUs being made applicable, thereby facilitating the code generation process. A 50% boost in programming speed when programming over Wi-Fi is also achieved, through improvements to the CODEGRIP embedded programmer/debugger.

As Nebojsa Matic, MIKROE’s CEO, notes; “By including this high level support for Microchip MCUs, designers can compile with ease, whether they are working on a low-power, cost-effective 8-bit application, a precise and efficient 16-bit project - perhaps a robust solution with enhanced performance for automotive electronics - or a high-performance computing design requiring the full computational prowess of 32-bit MCUs to build cutting-edge smart appliances.”
