Touch Controller IC with Cryptographic Capabilities

Intended for use in the human-machine interfaces (HMIs) of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations and parking payment units, the MXT2952TD 2.0 touch controller ICs from Microchip each feature data encryption and cryptographically authentication.

Such functionality will be of real value in relation to protecting these stations/units from the risk of being hacked, enabling them to meet payment card industry (PCI) security expectations. As well as being secure, they also offer elevated levels of touch performance - being fully responsive even when the protective glass over the touchscreen is thick or the user is wearing gloves.
