Board Level Hardware Delivers High Precision Positioning Capabilities

Employing real-time kinematic (RTK) functionality, Rutronik System Solutions’ RAB4 adapter board will accelerate the creation of precision positioning systems.

It incorporates advanced parts sourced from Rutronik’s extensive distribution portfolio. These include the Telit Cinterion LE910 LTE transceiver unit with built-in multi-GNSS capabilities, Unicore’s UM980 RTK positioning module, plus a prepaid SIM card. The Arduino interconnect allows this adapter board to interface with other items of hardware (including the RDK3 wireless connectivity board). Prospective uses include drones, AMRs/AGVs, smart agriculture, domestic robots, etc.    

“RTK is not a new technology and has been used in some areas for a long time. However, the costs were very high until now. Nowadays, cheaper but nevertheless powerful modules are available. That makes the technology and its advantages interesting for other areas of application.
