CAN XL Protocol Decoding Capabilities Aid SDV Networking Installations

21 March 2024

With major benefit to engineers involved in the implementation of in-vehicle networking infrastructure supporting the accelerated data rates that will be required by software-defined vehicle (SDV) models, Tektronix has just introduced its CAN XL protocol decoder.

This runs on the company’s 4, 5 and 6 Series mixed signal oscilloscope (MSO) units. It is now part of the SRAUTO software package accompanying these MSOs. Customers who already have the SRAUTO package can easily update it.

Those using the decoder will be able to decode data signals transmitted at 20Mbit/s via CAN XL frames on a CAN network. Error detection and debugging functions are included. Data using legacy CAN and CAN FD protocols can also be decoded too.

“The Tektronix CAN XL protocol decoder is a powerful tool that showcases the Tektronix commitment to innovation and meeting our customers' needs in the automotive, industrial automation segments, and beyond,” Subhasis Bera, Business Manager for Protocols & Software at Tektronix, comments. “We are happy to create versatile solutions that exceed our valued customers’ expectations.”
