Debug/Performance Analysis Platform for Windows on Arm

28 February 2024

To complement its capabilities relating to Windows on Intel, macOS on Intel and Apple Silicon, plus Linux based implementations, the Ozone graphical debugger and performance analyser from SEGGER is now available for Windows on Arm.

This means that the high-speed platform now runs native code on all the foremost operating system (OS) options - offering users greater flexibility than with alternative solutions. Among the array of functions incorporated into Ozone are an intuitive user interface, instruction tracing via the company’s J-Trace PRO probe, live code profiling and code coverage analysis. These prove very effective in validating and optimising complex embedded systems - identifying where there are bugs or inefficiencies present.

“This makes Ozone available for the many users of the Microsoft Surface series and to those using Windows VM on a Mac with Apple (Arm) silicon," states Dirk Akemann, SEGGER’s Marketing Manager. “Developers especially have been asking for it. This expands the Ozone offering, which has long been multi-platform, for 32- and 64-bit cores, both Intel and Arm.”
