Leading embedded hardware/display technology specialist Review Display Systems (RDS) has added a pair of Kontron motherboards to its broad product portfolio.

The mini-STX format K3921-N and K3921-H feature Intel processing technology (Intel Core i3 and Intel Alder Lake-N) along with UHD 12th generation graphics capabilities based on the Intel Xe architecture, plus 32GBytes of DDR5 4800 memory. They each have 2x Gbit Ethernet LAN interfaces and 2x COM ports, as well as Wi-Fi wireless connectivity. Both are designed for fan-less operation. Key applications include factory automation installations, medical instrumentation, digital signage systems, gaming machines, point-of-sales (PoS) equipment, etc. The industrial-grade K3921-N unit incorporates 2x DisplayPort v1.4 interfaces, plus a further DisplayPort via the front USB Type-C interconnect, as well as an embedded DisplayPort and dual-channel 24-bit LVDS interfacing. It has the capacity to support for up to 3 independent display units with 4K resolution (2x 4K UHD and 1x FHD). This is complemented by the K3921-H, which is still has considerable features and functionality, but is placed at a lower price point. It can also support up to 3 independent 4K resolution displays.
