CEF Efforts Help Raise Money for MND

22 February 2024

Supporting a worthy cause, CEF is providing financial backing to the Dodd1e’5 Gr4nd S7am team as it competes in the ‘All Roads Lead to Rome’ challenge (which starts on the 28th February).

This will see the team cycle all the way from the Scottish capital of Edinburgh down to its Italian equivalent Rome. The challenge is being organised to generate donations for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation charity so that further research into preventing motor neurone disease (MND) can be undertaken. The charity was founded by former Scottish rugby international Doddie Weir, who sadly died of the condition.

The gruelling 3,000km route that the teams have to traverse takes in all of the 6 Nations rugby stadia. Having set out from Murrayfield, participants will then head towards the Aviva in Dublin, followed by Cardiff’s Principality, Twickenham just outside London, the Stade de France in Paris, before finally reaching the Stadio Olimpico in Rome some 11 days later, on the 9th March.

According to Steve Pope, CEF’s Director of Power Tools; “We are proud to be sponsoring such a worthy cause and to be contributing vital funds toward MND research. Alongside my own personal experience with MND through a good friend’s diagnosis, participation in this event also helps to uphold our company values of giving back and contributing meaningfully to our community. Here at CEF, we truly believe that collective efforts can create real change and we’re wishing Dodd1e’5 Gr4nd S7am team all the best in their monumental endeavour for a brilliant cause.”
