Microchip Helps Assure Automobile Cybersecurity by Receiving ISO/SAE 21434 Certification

09 February 2024

After comprehensive auditing, conducted by UL Solutions, Microchip Technology has been certified as compliant to the ISO/SAE 21434 standard.

This will further the company's strong automotive credentials - being of real value to vehicle manufacturers and their tier 1 supply partners with regard to implementing effective cybersecurity mechanisms into their model designs. Thanks to the certification, these customers will not have to worry about navigating their way through huge quantities of process documentation to determine compliance when utilising Microchip’s security devices within electronic control units (ECUs).

“Security is a core pillar at Microchip and the ISO/SAE 21434 certification is proof of our dedication to maintaining high standards in automotive cybersecurity,” notes Matthias Kaestner, CVP of Microchip's Automotive Business Unit. “Our customers can be confident that Microchip is a trusted security advisor with the appropriate expertise to guide them through their automotive cybersecurity design journey.”
