Interconnects Maintain IP67 Rating Even if Unmated

29 January 2024

In situations where a connection has to be released during use - like inspection, maintenance and suchlike - environmental protection can be compromised.

Thanks to the protective caps incorporated into the 670 and 770 series miniature bayonet-attachment cable connectors from binder, this issue has been addressed. Consequently, IP67 protection against dust/liquid ingress is still upheld even when their mating pairs are not joined together. The protective caps have holding straps that can be easily attached to the cable connectors. Key applications where this feature will be of value include in test instrumentation, metrology equipment, lighting installations, signage systems, etc.
