Energy Harvesting Powered Bluetooth Module with Boosted Transmission Capabilities

22 January 2024

Providing the underlying technology needed for power-efficient lighting control, the PTM 216B Bluetooth switch module from EnOcean relies on high-performance energy harvesting - thereby negating the need for battery replacement/disposal and the inconvenience associated with these activities.

Energy is drawn from the surrounding environment via an ECO 260 frequency-independent kinetic harvester unit (which converts linear motion into electricity). This module can be configured via short-range NFC communication. It has twice the radio transmission power compared of its predecessor (the PTM 215B), thus giving it a notably longer usable communication range. Consequently, lighting control in application settings that have high ceilings is now possible (such as warehouses, aircraft hangars, etc.).
