MEMS-Based Differential Pressure Sensors Run Off 3.3V Supply

Würth Elektronik has expanded its WSEN PDUS series of differential pressure sensor devices. 2 additional versions have now been added that run off a 3.3V operating voltage (complementing the existing 5V versions). These are thereby compatible with most microcontroller units (MCUs) supporting such voltages.

Leveraging MEMS piezo-resistive technology, the WSEN PDUS series devices exhibit high degrees of accuracy - with up to ±0.25% full scale span (FSS) tolerance. Transfer functions from ±1mbar to +15bar can be selected. The new packaging design has horizontal-barbed nozzles, which allow direct connection of pneumatic hoses - thus avoiding the need for additional adapters and simplifying the installation process. Featuring both digital I²C and analogue interfacing, these sensors deliver fully calibrated pressure data (15-bit digital and 11-bit analogue) as well as optional temperature data. Among the applications where they will be used are HVAC systems, filter monitoring, gas leak detection, inhalers, etc.
