Parasitic Coupling Solution Boosts Antenna Efficiency & Enables Further Miniaturisation

24 December 2023

Aimed at use in Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 wireless implementations, Murata’s Parasitic Element Coupling Device will be pivotal in enhancing antenna efficiency levels even in situations where there are acute space constraints to contend with.

This is achieved by magnetically coupling the parasitic element directly with the antenna. Based on the company’s own unique multilayer technology, this 4-terminal surface-mount component has compact dimensions (1.0mm x 0.5mm x 0.35mm). It enables strong coupling performance without having to employ magnetic materials (which would be inappropriate for the operating frequencies involved). The places where this will be useful include smartphone handsets, tablet computers, network routers, game consoles, etc.
