emWin Graphics Now Offers Support for Arduino

03 December 2023

SEGGER has confirmed the integration of its popular emWin embedded graphics library into the Arduino platform.

Through this, professional engineers and hobbyists using the Arduino GIGA R1 board with dual-core processing and accompanying Arduino GIGA Display Shield will benefit from a highly effective way of applying compelling graphics elements into their projects and constructing advanced human machine interfaces (HMIs). Among the features included are widgets, animations, language management and motion support. Work can be conducted directly through the Arduino integrated design environment (IDE). A knowledge of C coding is not needed, as the emWin AppWizard automatically generates the necessary code (though more experienced engineers can add custom code if they choose to).

“We are very proud of the GIGA R1 WiFi, our board for ambitious makers with big ideas. And SEGGER’s emWin helps bring out its full potential," Leonardo Cavagnis, Firmware Engineer at Arduino, notes. “emWin’s AppWizard, together with the Arduino GIGA Display Shield, helps bring brilliant applications to life with ease.”

"The combination of emWin and Arduino opens up new possibilities for designing innovative applications and enriches the overall Arduino experience,” adds Dirk Akemann, SEGGER’s Marketing Manager.
