18 November 2023

NGO Engineers Without Borders UK, in association with housing and sanitation charity AzuKo, has just started accepting submissions for the latest edition of its yearly Reshaping Engineering Challenge.

Running for a month-long period, this virtual design contest will see professional engineers and engineering students working cooperatively to help people that are less privileged in poorer parts of the world. Those involved will dedicate around 4-5 hours of their time per week between the 25th January and the 29th February to the project. A professional mentor will be allocated to every one of the participating teams. They will use their knowledge and experience to guide and assist other team members in their activities. The designs derived from these efforts will then be assessed by a judging panel. The winners will subsequently be confirmed on the 7th March. To enter, simply go to:
According to John Kraus, Engineers Without Borders UK’s CEO; ‘This challenge is an incredible opportunity for participants to deepen their understanding of globally responsible engineering and their ability to solve real-world problems with a collaborative approach to design. By opening applications to those with and without technical training, we want to highlight the importance of working across sectors to foster a broader understanding of the impacts of engineering to create a safe and just future for all.’
