J-Link Debug Capabilities Brought to Trailblazing Cortex-M85 MCUs

To assist engineers in completing their development projects, SEGGER can now provide complete debugger support for the Renesas RA8M1 microcontroller unit (MCU) series. These 32-bit MCUs are the first commercially available devices to feature Arm Cortex-M85 high-performance processing technology. They are capable of running at 480MHz.

Through collaboration with the hardware and software engineering staff at Renesas, SEGGER’s technical team rapidly created and then supplied a working J-Link programming and debug solution. This was thus ready to use at the initial stages in the RA8M1 MCU development cycle. The latest release of the J-Link debugger software offers download to the RA8M1's on-chip flash and external OSPI flash, along with hardware/software breakpoints, plus streaming instruction trace when using J-Trace PRO.
