Micropower Hall Switch ICs Optimised for IoT Deployments

Drawing just 1µW of power, the Melexis MLX92216 and MLX92217 Hall switches offer highly effective operation while ensuring that system battery charge is conserved.

These chopper-stabilised devices can detect open or closed positions, presenting engineers with a more advanced alternative to conventional reed switch or proximity sensing arrangements. Unipolar, omnipolar and latch options are available. Sophisticated sleep/wakening logic has been incorporated too. These switch ICs are factory programmed, with scope for numerous functional parameters to be specified - such as magnetic thresholds (between 1.5mT to 4.9mT), sleep times (going from 0.6ms to 800ms), etc. They can be supplied in either UTDFN-4L (with a 1.2mm x 1.6mm footprint) or TSOT-3L (with a 2.8mm x 2.9mm footprint) package formats. Key applications include IoT nodes, wearables, industrial automation systems, smart home hardware, consumer electronics products, medical equipment and domestic appliances.
