Highly Rugged COM Express Hardware Gets IEC-60068 Certification for Use in Rail Applications

Having undergone rigorous testing, the conga-TC570r COM Express modules from Congatec have now received IEC-60068 certification.
This confirms that they have the robustness necessary for use in railway system implementations - with the ability to deal with extreme temperatures (from -40°C to +85°C), thermal shocks, mechanical shocks and acute vibrational forces. Resilience to high humidity, in accordance with IEC-60721-3-7, is also assured.
Leveraging 11th generation Intel Core processing technology, the IEC-60068 certified conga-TC570r modules can offer up to 8 processor core operation and reach speeds of 3GHz. They can be employed in train control and management system (TCMS) deployments, as well as passenger information systems, video surveillance equipment, ticketing and fare collection units, fleet management systems, etc. In addition, they may also be used to acquire/analyse data for predictive maintenance purposes. Non-rail use cases include industrial automation systems, autonomous guided vehicles (AGVs) and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs).
