Wireless Networking Protocol Stack Facilitates Implementation of Ultra-Low Power Temperature/Humidity Sensing Technology
14 September 2023
An updated version of the NeoMesh protocol stack has just been released by NeoCortec. Version 1.6 of this firmware enables the company’s energy-efficient NC2400 (2.4GHz and 1GHz frequency) and NC1000 (868MHz and 915MHz frequency) modules to support new SHT4xA temperature and humidity sensors from Sensirion.
These modules operate at a power consumption that is typically below 20µA, requiring on a pair of AA batteries as their source.
The NeoCortec firmware had already featured a generic application layer, which could be configured to address an extensive array of sensor devices, so that wireless functionality could be benefitted from without any programming being necessary. The updated version now broadens its scope - so that other sensors can be encompassed. Among the key applications will be building automation, smart agriculture, metering, industry 4.0 and healthcare.
