Interplex Highlights EV Motor Busbar Innovations at Battery Show North America

30 August 2023

Interplex is set to participate in the North American version of the Battery Show (which is being held in Novi, Michigan, between 12th and 14th September).

Situated at Booth #2766, the main focus for the company at this event will be the extensive range of motor stator busbars solutions that it can offer automotive customers for use in their electric vehicle (EV) motors. Optimally formed, they provide efficient and reliable interconnections between the stator windings of high-voltage traction motors and associated power sources.

Their high-performance copper integrated designs with special polymer materials mean that elevated levels of dielectric isolation and enhanced thermal characteristics are realised. By leveraging advanced fabrication techniques, the Interplex busbars can be custom shaped to suit any specific requirements. Consequently, they can be seamlessly integrated into EV traction motors, providing the means to control current flow at an overall lower cost of deployment than what is possible with conventional wiring techniques. Options available include multi-phase stator bars to handle 3-phase or 6-phase application demands, along with interconnect options for brazing, laser welding or pluggable arrangements.

“There is no one-size-fits-all approach in addressing the e-Mobility challenges of today and we understand that the needs of key OEMs and tier 1s are more than just finding a product but also about the overall system optimisation,” states Yednesh Parnaik, Head of Sales & Business Development for North America at Interplex. “Fully customisable, our motor stator busbars are engineered with cutting-edge technology offering unparalleled reliability and motor performance.”
