Server Power Solution Addresses Exacting Demands of AI Workloads

The 3,200W CRPS185 Titanium Plus server reference design from Navitas comfortably exceeds the expectations set out by the 80Plus Titanium certification program - providing support for elevated levels of operational efficiency in data centre hardware.

In addition though, it is also very well aligned with the heavy power requirements associated with the next generation data centre processing resources as they deal with AI workloads. This reference design, showcases the company’s advanced gallium-nitride (GaN) semiconductor technology. It is based on the latest 650V-rated GaNFast devices, and features an interleaved continuous conduction mode (CCM) totem-pole power factor correction (PFC) arrangement.

Sophisticated AI processors, such as NVIDIA’s DGX GH200, can draw up to 1,600W of power during operation - and this is a calling for much higher density accompanying power solutions that also maintain exceptional efficiency characteristics. Navitas power ICs are able to satisfy the necessary criteria for deployment in this context, with the company’s reference design helping to shorten the system development process, so projects can be completed within even the most ambitious of timeframes. Compared to other Titanium grade power solutions, the CRPS185 can reduce consumption figures by 757kWh when running at a typical 30% load.
