Lauterbach Announces Support for New Breed of Arm Processors

05 July 2023

Lauterbach has confirmed that its TRACE32 development tools now support Arm’s latest Armv9.2 multi-core processors - namely, the recently announced next generation 3.4GHz speed Cortex-X4, power-efficient Cortex-A720 and highly-compact Cortex-A520.

TRACE32 support includes simultaneous debugging of the heterogeneous CPU cores, as well as non-intrusive CPU trace capture. This tool consists of the universal PowerView debugging and tracing software, as well as advanced debug and trace accelerator modules. Thanks to the intelligent PowerDebug modules, download speeds are increased and response times shortened. The PowerTrace real-time trace modules enable useful insights to be derived in relation to what the CPUs and other cores of an Armv9.2 system are actually doing, but without impacting on the real-time performance attained.

“Year after year, Arm delivers impressive advances in computing performance and energy efficiency in its newest applications processors,” notes Norbert Weiss, Managing Director at Lauterbach GmbH. “And year after year, full support from our TRACE32 debug and trace tools is available along with Arm's announcement of the new cores."
