06 June 2023

Microchip has announced 2 new tools to support engineers with their programming and debugging activities.

Presenting fast, cost-effective and convenient solutions, the new MPLAB ICD 5 and MPLAB PICkit 5 in-circuit debuggers/programmers both feature remote programming capabilities that result in enhanced user experiences being derived. Relevant to those working with PIC, AVR, SAM and dsPIC devices, the MPLAB ICD 5 debugger/programmer platform offers advanced connectivity and power options. By reducing the need for power cables, it can be used in space-restricted environments. It can be powered by a USB Type-C connection to a PC or via PoE+.

“The MPLAB ICD 5 in-circuit debugger/programmer expands Microchip’s mid-range debugger portfolio to provide additional capabilities and high-end features often reserved for more expensive products,” states Rodger Richey, Senior Director of Microchip’s Development Systems business unit. “The cutting-edge hardware and wireless connectivity options make this tool extremely versatile and easy to use when designing a variety of applications.”
