Strategic Agreement Between onsemi & Kempower on EV Chargers

onsemi has just entered into a strategic agreement where it will supply electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure equipment manufacturer Kempower with key power semiconductor technology.
Through the agreement, onsemi’s EliteSiC M3S MOSFETs and D3 diodes will be incorporated into the active AC/DC front-ends, as well as the primary and secondary DC/DC converters, of Kempower chargers. Consequently, much lower power losses at high operating frequencies will be witnessed - thereby translating into heightened levels of efficiency and reductions in overall system size.
