Intertek Utilises Yokogawa Power Analysers for Detailed Examination of EV Power Trains

Via Intertek’s EV Testing Centre of Excellence, in Milton Keynes, the company is heavily involved with its customers work in automotive development - from ordinary road-going vehicles through to Formula E race cars hitting top speeds of 280km/h.
To support its latest projects, Intertek is relying on Yokogawa’s WT5000 precision power analyser platform. This enables traceable measurement of high-speed power signals, with a 10MS/s sampling rate. It has a high-resolution, 10.1-inch display that features split screen viewing of up to 18 different waveforms.
“The WT5000 provides ease of use and high productivity, notably the ability of the instrument to perform complex efficiency calculations” states Intertek Test Engineer, Raju Rajaneethan. “The efficiency map calculations in the WT5000 save us a lot of time. We now go directly from the torque transducer straight to the Yokogawa unit, and both speed and torque measurements are read directly from the WT5000. Previously we would have done these calculations for efficiency manually. This is a huge boost to the team’s productivity.”
