Included in this month’s EPDT May 2022 issue, this year's annual EPDT PXI for Test & Measurement (T&M) supplement is now available in print or digital editions.

EPDT's annual PXI for T&M supplement (p15 digital issue) opens with an intro from PXISA President, Jon Semancik, outlining why PXI continues to be the dominant modular instrumentation standard for electronics T&M (p16 digital issue or web version). The rest of the supplement features technical articles and case studies from some of the leading industry players in PXI – Pickering, Marvin Test, Keysight, ADLINK & NI – covering a range of T&M topics and PXI applications.

First up, signal switching & simulation specialist, Pickering Interfaces explain how PXI helped engineers at an EV start-up quickly build a complete physical HILS test system (p20 digital issue or web version).

Next up, Mil/Aero & manufacturing T&M firm, Marvin Test Solutions outline the benefits of adopting a modular open systems approach (MOSA) based on PXI – especially for legacy test systems (p24 digital issue or web version).

Then, electronics T&M expert, Keysight review how it used PXI to help factory automation specialist, Yamaha Fine Technologies deliver the industry’s first high-frequency PCB solution for testing 100% of board components (p26 digital issue or web version).

Embedded computing, T&M and automation specialist, ADLINK explains how PXI can be used to build a MEMS microphone production test system (p28 digital issue or web version).

And finally, we include a case study from microelectronics R&D hub, Holst Centre on how it used software-defined modular PXI instrumentation from computer-based T&M firm, NI to create a flexible test system to automatically verify & characterize new ultra-low-power semiconductor chip designs (p30 digital issue or web version).

EPDT's May 2022 issue also contains features covering Lighting technologies and Rail applications, as well as a show preview for ElectroTestExpo (p33 digital issue or web version) – the UK’s only dedicated electronics board test, inspection, device programming & debug event, plus editorial discussing the impact of war in Ukraine on the electronics industry supply chain (p4 digital issue or web version).

I hope you enjoy our regular look at the world of PXI for T&M – and I’d love to hear what you think or any ideas for topics you’d like EPDT to cover in future editions. You can email me at mark.gradwell@imlgroup.co.uk...
