128x64/132x32 graphic display with SPI and touch-screen

09 September 2008

MMS Electronics Ltd (MMS-e) has added the new EA Graphic display DOGM128-6 (128x64) and DOGM132-5 (132x32) to the very successful DOG series alphanumeric displays (1x8, 2x16 and 3x16).

These displays and optional backlights are specially designed for handheld low power applications and operate from a single +3.3V supply (graphics) and +3.3 or 5V supply for the alphanumeric displays. This system allows displays to be personalised by the combination of various display technologies (positive/negative, blue, green, black) with the 5 different backlights (white, blue, amber, yellow/green, red and RGB). Assembly is easy, simply clip the display and the backlight unit together and solder directly into PCB or plug into 2.54mm pitch socket. Thanks to the chip-on-glass technology the overall height is only 2mm and with the LED backlight the height is still only 5.8mm. The outline dimensions of DOGM128-6 is 55x43mm and the DOGM132-5 and DOG text displays is 55mm x 27mm. All displays have SPI interface and the text displays also have 4 or 8 bit interface. Simulator and USB demo board is available to speed up development. All modules are standard and available from stock.
