ZF buys Cherry Corporation

German automotive supplier, ZF Friedrichshafen, buys switch, sensor and control manufacturer.

With headquarters in Wisconsin and production in Germany, the Czech Republic, Mexico, Hong Kong, China and India, ZF believes it can use Cherry’s range of expertise in switch systems, sensors and control units for the automotive industry, to enhance its own supplier position for driveline and chassis technology.

Cherry was founded 55 years ago and develops and produces switches, sensors, control units and electronics modules for automotive as well as components for industrial and household use as well as computer input devices. The company will operate as an independent business unit, ZF Electronics, within the ZF Group.
