After being forced to cancel its Big Bang UK Young Scientists & Engineers Fair earlier this year in response to coronavirus, EngineeringUK has now launched a 14th July STEM & COVID-19-themed digital event. Meet the inspirational scientists, healthcare professionals, engineers, technicians & students doing incredible things during this coronavirus pandemic lockdown.
Big Bang Digital 2020 – Science, Engineering & Covid-19 is a free, online STEM event on Tuesday 14th July (running from 10am to 4pm) taking an inspirational, uplifting look at the essential role of science and engineering and celebrating the amazing work of scientists and engineers during the pandemic. The 1-day event will celebrate their achievements and give you the opportunity to hear about challenges, innovation and collaboration, exploring some of the STEM (science, technology, engineering & mathematics) upsides to lockdown.
Aimed at students 11+, #BigBangDigital gives young people a front row view of the role of people working in science and engineering via a variety of short, engaging sessions designed to give young people an understanding and appreciation of the incredible contribution scientists, healthcare professionals, engineers, technicians and students have made in responding to COVID-19.
TV & Radio Science Presenter, Podcaster & YouTuber Greg Foot will be hosting live, exploring the topic with a range of guests, putting audience questions to the experts and bringing his usual energy and enthusiasm to the day.

• New habits to protect the planet: The environmental impact of staying at home (Plastic Oceans, featuring exclusive videos from Sir David Attenborough)

An inspiring day of upbeat sessions, Big Bang Digital 2020 suits students with an interest in both the people and the STEM (science, technology, engineering & maths) behind the news stories.
