Next Gen Makers announces its Engineering Careers Prospectus 2020
13 November 2019
Next Gen Makers, a private sector initiative in the West Midlands that aims to make it easier for engineering & manufacturing firms to recruit engineering apprentices & inspire the next generation of engineers in local secondary/high schools, sixth forms & colleges, has announced its Engineering Careers Prospectus 2020.
According to Next Gen Makers, schools and young people in the West Midlands need to hear about the regions’ rich engineering supply chains now more than ever before. The initiative believes it’s time for an employer-led solution to the lack of manufacturing careers advice available. Engineering SMEs need access to bigger talent pools, facilitated by ensuring more young people are AWARE of them and EXCITED about the prospect of joining them.
Next Gen Makers is dedicated to providing a platform that helps manufacturers achieve this.
Launching in early 2020, and covering 6 regions (Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall/Cannock, Wolverhampton, Birmingham and Redditch/Bromsgrove), the Next Gen Makers Engineering Careers Prospectus aims to profile:
• A range of manufacturers in all regions
• Apprentice successes
• Simplified engineering career pathway information
• Places to train, learn and develop skills
The online and printed Prospectus will be supported by dedicated promotional activity & events in multiple secondary/high schools and sixth forms across the 6 regions annually. Working collaboratively with local employers in the engineering and manufacturing sector, Next Gen Makers aims to make a positive difference to the recruitment pipeline with its Prospectus.
