Septentrio & Analog Devices collaborate to create optimised, integrated GNSS inertial navigation systems

Septentrio & Analog Devices collaborate to provide customers with easy access to optimised integrated GNSS inertial solutions, leveraging Septentrio's expertise in reliable & accurate GNSS with advanced IMU (inertial measurement unit) tech from ADI.

Septentrio, a specialist in high-accuracy GNSS receivers, has announced a collaboration with Analog Devices, combining ADI’s high-quality IMUs with Septentrio’s multi-frequency, multi-constellation GNSS receivers. The resulting high-performance GNSS/INS systems deliver centimetre-accurate positioning, together with 3D orientation (heading, pitch & roll), ideal for applications such as automotive ADAS & industrial automation.

GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) is the standard generic term for satellite navigation systems that provide autonomous geo-spatial positioning with global coverage, combining signals from US GPS, Russian GLONASS, European Galileo and Chinese BeiDou. These satellite constellations broadcast positioning and timing information which is picked up by GNSS receivers and used to calculate its global position.

Working directly with Analog Devices allows Septentrio to provide faster and more efficient GNSS/INS integration solutions for high-volume customers. This collaboration promises a solid foundation for design and production of top-performance integrated positioning and inertial solutions, with first products available in spring 2020.
