01 October 2018
electronica is the world’s leading trade fair and conference for electronic components, systems, applications and solutions. It brings together almost 3,000 exhibitors and over 70,000 visitors, from more than 50 countries, at the renowned Messe München in Munich, Germany every two years.

The event provides a display window for innovations and trends in the electronics industry, helping shape the status quo and offering a glimpse into the future. Acting as a think-tank, it aims to inspire and enable a global network of decision makers, engineers and developers. In the run up to this year’s event in November, Angela Marten, Exhibition Director for electronica, tells us what to expect at the show…
electronica continues to grow, expanding again from 13 to 17 halls in 2018, now covering more than 90,000m2. In addition, we have reviewed and revised the structure and layout, adding three new visitor entrances, bringing the total to five. Together with fast lanes on the upper floors of the halls, this will help visitors reach their areas of choice as quickly as possible, ensuring a uniform flow of visitors across the entire site.
It also allows us to place semiconductors, the core of electronica, at the centre of our new layout (SEMICON Europa will also take place in the electronica halls, as a co-located event), with supporting technologies and segments ranged around this. And one of our new halls, C6, will house the electronica experience, enabling all visitors to actually experience, test and try lectronica exhibitors’ products in their respective applications.
Learning opportunities at the show include four key conference programmes, all focused on the challenges facing electronics across these applications. The Automotive Conference (eAC), the Embedded Platforms Conference (eEPC), the Wireless Congress and the new Medical Electronics Conference. As the industry’s leading trade fair, electronica presents the latest electronic technologies, products and solutions for the challenges of the future – the components, systems, applications and services that make new developments such as smart homes and connected cars possible.
As well as a comprehensive, clearly structured and signposted exhibition, plus exciting live demonstrations, electronica includes a range of technical conferences, forums, TechTalks, roundtables and expert panels – all designed to help visitors develop their competencies and knowledge.
The essential electronics industry meet-up, our visitors enthusiastically report it to be an excellent business platform and efficient networking event, an effective technical product show and a forum for the highest level of industry discussion. Join us at electronica to experience the whole world of electronics...
