Design tools specify supplies

01 October 2007

Vicor has introduced a suite of online power supply design tools, PowerBench, for designers to select power supplies that best meet a project’s requirements. The suite encompasses DC/DC converters, AC/DC and DC/DC partitioned power architecture, i.e VIPAC and VIPAC Arrays, and a range of power-factor corrected AD/DC power supplies.

The suite establishes if a standard, existing non- standard or customer- specific specification power supply is available. The company manufactures standard and custom products using the same production line and process to save NRE (non recurring engineering) costs and lead times. Engineers can specify a required power supply and verify it is right for the intended project with performance and attributes verified online and in real-time. (www.vicoreurope.com/powerbench) If an appropriate standard product does not exist, PowerBench can be used to design a specific product within design and budget constraints, as the tools also provide immediate price and availability quotes.

Prototype quantities can be delivered in less than six weeks.
