Electrolube debuts high-performance electro-chemicals at Automechanika

Electrolube will be showcasing their latest protective solutions at Automechanika, which takes place at the NEC, Birmingham, June 7-9 2016.

The reliability of automotive electronic systems has become a critical issue for vehicle manufacturers with electronic systems often exceeding 20 percent of total vehicle value and vehicle warranties typically offering between 5 and 7-year durations.
Specific areas where Electrolube's products are having a significant impact on reliability is through their higher performance Conformal Coating range, designed to perform in the harshest environments both under-hood and in-cabin, and Thermal Management solutions for under-hood applications, which are compromised by wide temperature swings, vibration, shock and contamination from fuels, lubricants, hydraulic fluids and other automotive fluids.
Electrolube’s range of solvent-free protective Conformal Coatings have been developed for application at greater thicknesses to overcome common coating related defects and improve sharp-edge coverage. These materials demonstrably provide significant performance improvements on model PCB test assemblies, in terms of resistance to thermal shock, condensing and salt-mist environments when compared to traditional Conformal Coatings, ultra-thin coatings or even UV curable materials.
Electrolube can offer a variety of industry-proven protective materials including Encapsulation resins (epoxy, silicone and polyurethane chemistries), Conformal Coatings and Thermal Management formulations that are highly suited to demanding automotive applications.
Electrolube’s contact lubricants can also increase the lifetime, functionality and quality of automotive safety switches, resulting in a dramatic impact on the performance expectations of the vehicle and the perceived brand image. A lubricated switch is subject to far less mechanical wear as the lubricant facilitates smooth movement. Friction, wear and electrical issues such as fretting corrosion and arcing are therefore greatly reduced, extending switch lifetime, improving electrical efficiency and allowing the use of a wider selection of materials.
