Southern Manufacturing & Electronics 2016

02 February 2016

Southern Manufacturing & Electronics returns to FIVE, Farnborough from February 9th-11th 2016.

Southern Electronics and the co-hosted Manufacturing show are annual exhibitions for engineering enterprises across the south and west, if not the entire UK.

The three-day format has made it possible for more firms to take part, allowing UK-based visitors the opportunity to meet with firms from very much further afield. At around 18,000 square metres, and hosting over 800 exhibitors, the show provides the earliest opportunity of the year to see the most up-to-date products and technologies.

The exhibitor list represents a selection of engineering disciplines from advanced electronics to precision engineering; every kind of production hardware from machine tools to fully automated placement and inspection systems, and a vast selection of components, consumables, production aids and fixtures and fittings.

The electronics area of the show counts for only half of the total exhibition space, which is larger than five halls of the NEC combined. The rest is given over to an equally wide range of vendors from manufacturing industry, offering everything from sophisticated machining centres to precision engineering, surface finishes and fabrication. There’s also hundreds more component vendors providing items such as fixings, stand-offs, enclosures, specialist printing and marking solutions.

The show features Technology Trails linking vendors involved in particular sectors to help guide visitors round the principal event areas, allowing them to make the best usage of their time throughout the exhibition. Pre-registered visitors get a free show guide that contains full details of the Trails and the exhibiting companies, making it a lot easier to navigate. A full list of exhibitors and a searchable product database can also be found online.

The free technical seminar programme runs in two lecture theatres over the three days of the event. Visitors can see seminars covering an extensive range of business and technical topics, delivered by a line-up of expert speakers in their respective disciplines.

Admission to the event is free to business visitors, and FIVE Farnborough offers ample free car parking and easy access by road or public transport. To register for tickets, visit Show visitors can keep up to date with the latest event and exhibitor news by visiting the show's official blog,, by following @industry_co_uk #southmanf on Twitter or by joining the show's official group on LinkedIn at
